Grigoryan Brothers present world premiere of new Stuart Greenbaum piece in Melbourne in November!

Yes – it is terribly exciting!

The Classical Guitar Society of Victoria (CGSV) has been working with Melbourne-based composer Stuart Greenbaum, the Grigoryan Brothers and the Melbourne Planetarium to present the world premiere of “Natural Satellite”. This is a new suite for guitar duet inspired by the antics of orbital bodies.

At the world premiere on Friday November 15th, the Grigoryan Brothers will perform Stuart Greenbaum’s new five movement suite accompanied by a stunning visual display developed by Planetarium staff for the occasion.

If you’re interested and you’re in town (sorry, readers across the seas!) the CGSV has special ticket and goodies packages available for members, including signed CDs and other memorabilia. To find out more about and bagsie the exciting packages, head on over to the CGSV website and sign up! Go to: http://www.cgsv.org.au

An opportunity to be a part of Daniel Nistico’s first album Un Viaje Mistico … A Mystical Journey

Melbourne talent, Daniel Nistico (who I’ve featured on the blog previously) is, as we speak, in the recording studio laying down tracks for his very first studio album. How very exciting!

Now Daniel doesn’t have the backing of a Deutsche Gramophon or some other major record label (although I’d be surprised if that didn’t occur in the not too distant future), and so he’s self-funding the creation of his first album. As I’m sure you’d guess, that’s not a cheap undertaking, so he’s put a bit of a crowdfunding project together with the promise of some goodies for those that contribute to the creation and release of the album.

For the opportunity to be a part of and contribute to Daniel’s first album head here: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/amysticaljourney

Daniel is currently studying a Masters of Music Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music with Aria award-winning guitarist Antony Field and internationally renowned pianist Donna Coleman. Daniel was originally taught by his father at age 12 and studied at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) Young Academy and the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS).

Daniel frequently performs around Melbourne and is regularly broadcast on both ABC Classic FM and 3MBS Fine Music Radio Stations. Daniel is an active member of the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria and was a winner of their prestigious Alhambra Sadie Award. Daniel is an active performer, performing in countries including the US, Serbia, New Zealand and South America. He also represented Australia and New Zealand, winning the 2011 Lions Global Youth Music Competition, establishing himself as a concert guitarist of high calibre.

If you’d like a free download of one of Daniel’s tracks, a beautiful Scarlatti sonata, and to hear the wonderful player that you’ll be supporting head here: http://www.pledgemusic.com/artists/danielnistico
