The guitar world lost a truly legendary figure last week – the Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia. Lucia unfortunately passed away as a result of a heart attack at home in Mexico on 25th February.
The man was a true once-in-a-generation talent and a legend of the guitar world. In some respects, one might say that he was to flamenco guitar what Andres Segovia to classical guitar – making it a legitimate, well-loved and widely appreciated art form.
Let his music speak for itself….
And he wasn’t just restricted to playing fantastic flamenco by any means. He was also a renowned jazz and classical player too. I’ll leave you today with his interpretation of the Adagio from Joaquin Rodgrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.
